HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Terriers jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the first two minutes on layups in the paint, including a Johnson feed to Pina in transition.
  • Starting at the 5:25 mark of the first, BU's next three baskets were threes, with two coming from Pina and another from Johnson.
  • Williams trimmed the Wildcat deficit to 13-9 as the clock read 2:13, but a 7-2 run to close the frame put BU ahead 20-11 after 10 minutes.
  • BU didn't score in the first 1:52 of the second quarter, but responded with a 13-2 run over three minutes. During the burst, senior Liz Shean nailed a pair of corner jumpers inside the arc, while Giannaros drew contact on a putback to ignite a nostalgic three-point play.
  • The Terriers closed the first half on a 9-0 run, where junior Kelsi Mingo converted an and-one play herself, and freshman Anastasiia Semenova sank a layup before the buzzer. In total, BU outscored UNH 22-7 in the second.
  • BU's lead ballooned to 57-20 as the Terriers started the second half on a 15-2 run, and a 37-7 spurt that occurred over 16 minutes of action.
  • In that sequence, Durant registered BU's third and-one play of the game, Pina scored five points, and Giannaros capped it with a straightway three with 3:08 left in the third.
  • UNH's only field goal in the third came with 1.4 seconds to go, as BU forced the home team to shoot 1-for-13 in the period to extend its lead to 59-24.
  • BU's largest lead of the game was 38, occurring on two separate occasions. Giannaros knocked down a three off a feed from Semenova midway through the fourth, then the rookie snagged an offensive rebound for a second-chance layup with 3:03 to play.

STATS
  • As a team, the Terriers shot 50 percent from the field, as well as 7-for-14 from deep.
  • BU won the rebounding battle for the fifth time this season, gaining a 44-31 edge.
  • The Terriers also held a 34-18 edge in points in the paint, and generated 33 bench points.
  • BU racked up 18 assists.
  • The Terriers never trailed, leading for all but 32 seconds in the game.
  • The only quarter that BU did not make seven or more baskets was the third, when the Terriers shot 60 percent.
  • In the second and third quarters, BU outscored UNH 39-13.

GAME NOTES
  • In addition to being the largest margin of victory under Coach Graves, the 42 points allowed are the fewest since Graves took over before the 2021-22 season.
  • Sunday was the largest margin of victory and fewest points allowed by the Terriers since Feb. 13, 2021, an 82-41 triumph over Army West Point.
  • BU allowed just one three-pointer for the first time since Feb. 23 at Lafayette. UNH's 6.3 percent clip from distance is the lowest the Terriers allowed since limiting St. John's to 0-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc on Dec. 4, 2010.
  • Pina is off to the best three-point shooting performance in her career through six games, drilling 52 percent of her triples (13-for-25). She now has 148 three-pointers in her BU tenure, one away from Cheri Raffo '08 for ninth place all-time.
  • Johnson has reached double figures in 24 of her last 25 games. She is also averaging six assists per game in her last three contests.
  • Crispe set a career-high with her first double-digit performance. She now ranks fifth on the team with 7.3 points per game.
  • Giannaros, who missed the previous four games, dropped 10 points in 15 minutes of action. In her two appearances, she has scored 33 points in 49 minutes.
  • BU improves to 44-33 all-time against UNH. Sunday was the second-largest margin of victory for the Terriers over the Wildcats; the largest was a 79-39 win on Jan. 19, 2012.
