BOSTON - The Boston University women's swimming & diving team had the top finisher in every event, resulting in a 212-82 dual victory over Providence on Saturday at the FitRec Competition Pool.
Junior
Lara Mitchell, sophomore
Sasha Ramey and freshman
Haley Newman were victorious in two events each while eight other Terriers claimed a win on the day.
Mitchell swept the backstroke events, finishing the 100 in 57.21 and the 200 in 2:05.19, while Newman took the two butterfly events, posting times of 56.91 in the 100 and 2:05.95 in the 200.
Ramey was one of five BU swimmers to win a freestyle event as she was victorious in the 100 in a time of 53.09 and also had the best time in the 200 IM (2:08.58). Other freestyle winners were junior
Madison Kim (24.39 - 50), freshman
Stella Langenbach (1:55.27 - 200), junior
Sydney Sorbello (5:17.64 - 500) and junior
Anastasia Belyakov (10:53.84 - 1,000).
The breaststroke events were won by junior
Clarissa Hoyt (1:06.67 - 100) and sophomore
Ashley Scafetta (2:23.59 - 200) while two juniors took the diving events with
Sumi Cameron posting a 266.48 in the 3-meter and
Karina Moy earning a score of 260.03 in the 1-meter.
The 200 medley relay of Mitchell, Scafetta, Ramey and freshman
Janhvi Choudhary opened the meet with a winning time of 1:46.84. In the 200 freestyle relay, Newman, Choudhary, junior
Blythe Brenner and Kim had a time of 1:36.65.
The Terriers will return to action in two weeks when they host the three-day Terrier Invitational on Nov. 18-20.
