HOW IT HAPPENED

- UConn kept the game scoreless by earning three straight infield pop ups.
- The Huskies advanced a runner to second without a hit on an error and stolen base, but Boaz made three straight outs on a pair of swinging strikeouts and then a grounder to the circle.
- After BU left two on base in both the second and third, the Terriers finally broke through in the fourth with five runs off four hits.
- The Terriers first loaded the bases on back-to-back singles from junior Audrey Sellers and freshman Tyesha Williams along with Coker's walk.
- After Horita hit an RBI single off the pitcher, the Terriers extended the lead to 2-0 thanks to a wild pitch.
- Gant then delivered a decisive blow by launching a 0-1 pitch toward center for the 5-0 advantage.
- The Huskies tried to mount a rally in the sixth with a one-out double and three straight two-out singles, but on the third one, sophomore Lauren Keleher stepped up with a throw home in time for Sellers to apply a tag and keep the game at 5-1.
- UConn started the seventh with a solo homer against Avery and added a one-out walk before Avery earned a ground out and swinging strikeout to end the threat.
