BOSTON - The Boston University field hockey team will close out a six-game homestand on Tuesday (Oct. 17) when it welcomes crosstown rival Harvard in a non-conference matchup.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers won their first four games of their homestand but had the streak snapped in a 1-0 conference loss to Lafayette on Sunday. 
  • BU is 4-3 at home this season. 
  • The Terriers are tied for third in the Patriot League with a 2-2 record. 
  • Senior Thalia Steenssens leads the Terriers in points (17) and assists (9) this season.
  • Sophomore Caroline O'Brien has a team-best six goals. 
  • Senior goalkeeper Kate Thomason has started all 13 matches this season and sports a 1.91 goals-against average, which is fifth among Patriot League goalkeepers, and a .714 save percentage.
SCOUTING HARVARD
  • Harvard is 10-3 this season and sits atop the Ivy League standings with a 5-0 record. 
  • The Crimson have won five consecutive games, with the last three being shutouts. 
  • Most recently, Harvard topped Princeton on Saturday by a score of 4-0. 
  • Junior Emily Guckian leads the Crimson in goals (8), assists (9) and points (25). 
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Tessa Shahbo has started 10 of Harvard's 13 games this season and currently has a 1.43 goals-against average and a .689 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Tuesday will mark the 40th matchup all-time between the two sides.
  • The Terriers are 20-18-1 all-time against the Crimson.
