Men's Soccer to Visit Harvard in Tuesday Night Derby on NESN

BOSTON – Riding a six-game unbeaten streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will make the short trek to Harvard Tuesday night with the contest set for a 7 p.m. start on both NESN and ESPN+.

The Terriers are coming off Saturday's 4-1 home win vs. Navy, while the Crimson are continuing their three-game homestand after starting off with a 0-0 draw against Brown.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU's unbeaten streak is the program's longest since posting a six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) in 2015 en route to an at-large NCAA bid.
  • The Terriers are 2-2-1 on the road compared to their 5-0-1 home mark. They last posted a 2-1 win against American (Sept. 23) in Washington, D.C., and a 2-2 draw at Boston College (Sept. 19).
  • Four different Terriers scored a goal against the Midshipmen with senior Eitan Rosen netting the first score and assisting on the third to claim Patriot League Midfielder of the Week honors.
  • Rosen leads BU with five goals and 12 points, while both graduate students Colin Innes (1g,5a) and Quinn Matulis (3g,1a) own seven points apiece.
  • Overall, 10 Terriers have scored at least one goal with eight recording at least one assist and six earning one of each.
  • Senior Francesco Montali has started 10 contests at net, earning a .704 save percentage and 0.80 goals against average with four shutouts.

SCOUTING HARVARD
  • The Crimson are 0-1-5 at home compared to their 2-2 road mark, earning notable 1-1 draws against then-No. 12 Vermont and No. 23 Seton Hall. 
  • Both Harvard and BU dropped one-goal decisions at No. 23/24 New Hampshire.
  • Alessandro Arlotti leads the Crimson with eight points off two goals and four assists, while Willem Ebbinge owns a team-high five assists alongside one goal.
  • Lucian Wood has started nine games, posting a .750 save percentage and 1.22 goals against average with two shutouts.
  • Opponents are averaging 3.8 more shots per game (12.8-9.0) despite Harvard owning a 67-51 advantage in corners.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Harvard leads the all-time series, 28-17-8, that dates back to 1951.
  • Last season, the Crimson pulled out a 1-0 decision at Nickerson Field with a 25th minute score, as the Terriers posted a 10-8 edge in shots.
  • The Crimson are on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1) at home following a 2-1 win in 2021. BU last prevailed in 2011.
