BOSTON - Thanks to six players with double-figure scoring and 14 3-pointers, the Boston University men's basketball team earned a 95-79 victory over Bryant in its home opener on Thursday evening at Case Gym.
Sophomore
Otto Landrum had a career-high 19 points while junior
Ethan Okwuosa had his first double-double at the Division I level with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Freshman
Kyrone Alexander had the best game of his young career with 17 points while junior
Ben Palacios and
Miles Brewster added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Sophomore
Ben Roy tallied a career-high 11 points.
Up three with just under five minutes left in the opening half, BU built a 10-point halftime lead and then upped it to as many as 22 in the second half before closing out the victory.
BU earned its first win and both the Terriers and the Bulldogs now stand at 1-3 on the year. Bryant got a game-high 28 points from Sherif Gross-Bullock.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU scored the game's first seven points and did not trail until Rafael Pinzon scored three of his 18 first-half points to give the visitors a 19-18 edge.
- Bryant held a three-point lead at 24-21 following a Pinzon lay-up with just under 11 minutes left until halftime before the Terriers embarked on an 8-2 run to regain the lead for good.
- Palacios went 5-for-5, including a trio of threes, in the first half to account for all of his 14 points on the night.
- Brewster opened the second half with a 3-pointer to give the Terriers their largest lead yet at 50-37.Â
- Landrum, who went 7-of-10 from the floor, scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half and helped the Terriers build a cushion that proved to be insurmountable for the Bulldogs.

- This was the first time since Nov. 21, 2021, (vs. Northern Illinois) that the Terriers had six players in double-figures.
- BU made exactly half of its 3-point attempts on the night, shooting 14-of-28.Â
- Overall, BU shot 48.4 percent from the floor (31-of-64).
- The Terriers held a 41-25 advantage on the boards.
- Each team had nine turnovers in the contest.
- BU held a 14-2 advantage in second-chance points.
