SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Boston University women's tennis team swept Bryant 7-0 on the road on Saturday. BU notched four straight-sets singles wins and secured the doubles point in the victory.
 
The Terriers were quick to get the doubles point with wins in the Nos. 3 and 2 spots, respectively. Sophomore Sydney Sharma and freshman Emily Zhao were first to win in a 6-2 result. Junior Victoria Carlsten and freshman Navya Vadlamudi clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory.
 
In singles, junior Kaitlin Tan, grad student Shelly Yaloz and senior Erica Di Battista all won in straight sets to go up 4-0 and secure the win with Di Battista clinching for the second time this season. Shortly thereafter, Carlsten, Vadlamudi and Sharma all won their matches. Vadlamudi won in straight sets, Carlsten came back to win in three sets and Sharma won in a super tiebreaker.
 
BU will be back in action Friday (Feb. 10) when it heads to Weymouth, Mass. to face ACC foe Boston College at 4 p.m.
