Men's Tennis Tops Bentley, 5-2

BOSTON – After dropping a tightly-contested doubles point, the Boston University men's tennis team rolled in singles to a 5-2 victory over Bentley Thursday afternoon at the Track & Tennis Center.

The Terriers (7-6) captured four of their five singles points in straight sets to hand the Falcons (2-1) their first defeat.

Freshman Corey Craig dropped the fewest games in a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while junior Owen Voigt rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at line 6.

Freshman Alejandro Licea posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 slot, while junior Johann Sajonz pulled away in the second for a 7-6(4), 6-1 win at line 5. 

Junior Ben Letzer rallied from a set down to earn a 5-7, 7-5, 6-0 win at line 4 for the fifth point.

In doubles, Bentley won two matches by a combined score for its first point and added a singes point with a 6-3, 6-3 win at line 3.

BU will next head to California for three matches, starting at UC Irvine on Monday (March 6) with a 1 p.m. ET start time.
