SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Earning its second Patriot League sweep of the weekend, the Boston University men's tennis team posted a 4-0 victory against Colgate on Sunday afternoon at the Drumlins Tennis Center.
By winning the first two doubles matches and capturing all three singles points in straight sets, the Terriers (10-10, 2-1 PL) have reached double-digit victories for the first time in five seasons. They earned their first sweep over the Raiders (3-14, 2-4 PL) since 2019.
Both sophomore
Dion Loutas and freshman
Alejandro Licea went 2-0 on the day to lead BU. They first teamed together for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Licea then cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory on the No. 3 singles court, as Loutas defeated 2022 All-PL Second Team honoree Jack Selati, 6-3, 6-3.
In the other doubles match at line 3, sophomore
Adrian Pawlowski and junior Johan Sajonz sealed the first point with a 6-3 win. Junior
Ben Letzer added the other singles point by dropping the fewest games in the No. 6 slot with a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
The Terriers will next head to West Point, New York, for a pair of matches. They'll first face Army on Saturday (April 8) and then Lehigh on Sunday (April 9) with both contests set for 12 p.m.
