MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The Boston University women's golf team is currently in second place at the Patriot League Championship with play suspended until Sunday due to thunderstorms.
When the horn sounded on Saturday at Independence Golf Club, BU golfers were playing holes 12 through 16 and the team was even on the day, matching Richmond and seven strokes better than Lehigh, allowing the Terriers to leap past the Mountain Hawks into second place at plus-16. The Spiders remain in first at plus-5.
Senior
Alice Fan charged to the top of the individual leaderboard with six birdies in her first 12 holes on Saturday, putting her 6-under for the day and 2-under for the tournament. All eyes will be on her on Sunday morning as she looks to break the PL Championship single-round record of 70, set by BU's Zhangcheng Guo in 2019.
Sophomore
Christy Chen is also currently under par in her second round at minus-2 and sits tied for third for the tournament at even par.
Junior
Flair Kuan is 3-over through 15, senior
Kristen Min Ju Kim is 5-over through 12, freshman
Annika Manjunath is 6-over through 12 and sophomore
Victoria Takai is 9-over through 12.
The second round will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday followed directly by the third and final round.
