PRINCETON, N.J. -
Christy Chen of the Boston University women's golf team became the first Terrier in eight years to win back-to-back tournaments as the junior shared medalist honors at the Princeton Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday at Springdale Golf Club. The Terriers placed sixth in the 12-team tournament.
Chen followed up her two Saturday rounds of 70 with a 71 on Sunday to finish at 2-under (211) along with Dartmouth's Katherine Sung and Princeton's Yanjun Liu. Thanks to her win last weekend at the Bucknell Invitational, Chen joined Adela Cejnarova as the only players in program history to take first place in back-to-back tournaments.
Sophomore
Annika Manjunath had her best-ever finish in a three-round tournament, tying for 12th at 6-over with a score of 71-74-74--219.
Freshman
Hibiki Adachi (78-79-76--233) and senior
Flair Kuan (77-78-78--233) tied for 45th at plus-20 while freshman
Madison Takai moved up five spots on Sunday to finish 56th at plus-25 (79-82-77--238).
Georgetown won the team title by four strokes over Dartmouth with the Hoyas posting a plus-10 862. Harvard (+25) edged Penn (+26) for third while host Princeton was fifth at plus-32, 11 strokes ahead of BU.
The Terriers will return to action on Monday, Sept. 25, when they play the first two rounds of Boston College's Red Bandanna Intercollegiate at Blue Hill Country Club.
