CANTON, Mass. - The Boston University women's golf team had three individuals finish in the top 20 at the Red Bandanna Intercollegiate and the team moved up one spot in the final round to finish sixth among 17 teams at Blue Hill Country Club on Tuesday.
Junior
Christy Chen tied for third at 8-over (75-76-73--224) while senior
Flair Kuan (78-73-78--229) and sophomore
Annika Manjunath (78-75-76--229) tied for 18th at 13-over.
BU posted a 308 in the third and final round to move ahead of St. John's and claim sixth place with a total of 930 (+66), which was three strokes behind fifth-place LIU.
Chen and Manjunath each had two birdies on Tuesday while junior
Meiqi Gao and freshmen
Hibiki Adachi and
Madison Takai had one each.
Gao turned in a 78 on Tuesday to finish at +18 (234) and move up three spots into a tie for 30th. Adachi (82-84-81--247) and Takai (80-82-85--247) finished in a tie for 68th at plus-31.
Tournament host Boston College took the team title at 897 (+33), four strokes ahead of second-place Sacred Heart.
The Terriers will complete their fall schedule at the Yale Invitational on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
