BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston University men's cross country team finished ninth in the 8K at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh on Saturday. The Terriers were led by returners to help them to their best-ever finish at the meet.
BU combined for 315 points to finish ten places higher than the 2022 season. Yale, which is ranked No. 7 in the northeast region, won the race with 101 points.

Paving the way for BU was grad student
Foster Malleck who placed 17th with a time of 24:27.6 for one of his strongest cross country races as a Terrier. Fellow grad student
Mike Hagen was next in for the Terriers, placing 55th with a time of 24:46.0. Sophomore
Parker Schneider closely followed to take 59th with a time of 24:47.0.

Freddy Collins (25:06.8) in 105th, senior
Alex Brown (25:11.5) in 119th and sophomore
Moritz Ebbeskotte (25:38.4) in 190th rounded out the scoring for BU. Also racing for the Terriers were senior
Matthew Mason (25:38.7), grad student
Aksel Laudon (26:09.2) and freshman
Karsen Vesty (27:42.6).
In the men's open 8K, grad student
Kevin Murphy led BU with a time of 25:36.9, good for 46th. Next in were sophomores
Tucker Bowerfind (26:12.8) and
Glenn Bell (26:24.4) in 93rd and 118th, respectively. Also competing were seniors
Will Loggia (26:43.7) and
Nate Somers (27:58.0).

BU will race next at the IC4A/ECAC Championships in New York on Friday, Oct. 13.
