BOSTON – The student-athletes of the Boston University Department of Athletics turned in a record-breaking semester during the Fall 2023 semester, posting a 3.41 department grade-point average. It marked the 14th straight semester that BU student-athletes combined for a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The 3.41 marks the highest Fall GPA in department history and ranks only behind Spring 2020 for the highest of all-time. All 24 varsity programs earned a GPA of 3.1 or above with women's golf leading the way at 3.72. Women's basketball had the largest improvement from last fall, raising its average by 0.35. 
 
Over 80 percent of the student-athlete body had a GPA of 3.0 or above for the semester. Additionally, 53 student-athletes finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall.
