BOSTON — The Boston University cross country teams are headed to Lafayette for the Patriot League Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 2. The women's 6K race begins 11 a.m. and the men's 8K race starts at 12 p.m. in Easton, Pennsylvania for the first time since 2016.
The Terriers will look to capture their first men's team title in program history while the women's program will try and win its first title since 2020-21.
Last year, the women's team finished second overall at the meet, finishing with 40 points overall and having the top two finishers in
Hannah Prosser and
Vera Sjöberg. Prosser, Sjöberg,
Kelly Jones,
Adrienne Buettner-Cable and
Abby Waddington all earned All-Patriot League Honors. On the men's side, the Terriers finished third with 56 points and four All-Patriot League Team members, led by
Parker Schneider's fourth-place finish.
This season, the women had a top-10 finish at the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh, taking eighth with Sjöberg earning runner-up with her first sub-20 minute 6K time of her career. Sjöberg also led the Terriers at the Princeton Fall Classic, where the Terriers finished 12 of 22 teams. Buettner-Cable, Jones, junior

Most recently, the men had a 14
th-place at the Princeton Fall Classic and were led by Schneider on the 8K course. Sophomore

The Terriers racked up five weekly awards on the women's side, with Sjöberg earning Patriot League Runner of the Week twice and Collins taking three Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards. Brown and Hruska both picked up PL Runner of the Week awards while freshman
James American Horse took a PL Rookie of the Week honor during the season.
