BOSTON – After recognizing seniors
Johann Sajonz and
Owen Voigt, the Boston University men's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over Bentley Sunday afternoon at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
With their fifth straight win, the Terriers improve to 6-2, while the Falcons fall to 4-4. BU won all three doubles matches by a combined score of 18-2 and then captured five singles points in straight sets.
Both Sajonz and junior
Adrian Pawlowski led BU with 2-0 records on the day. Sajonz first teamed with sophomore
Alejandro Licea for a 6-0 doubles win at line 2, while Pawlowski and Voigt posted a 6-1 victory on court No. 3. Senior
Jonah Dickson and junior
Cole Knutsen completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win in the top slot.
During singles action, Sajonz rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win at line 5, and Pawlowski posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the No. 6 slot. Sophomore
Corey Craig dropped the fewest games in the top match, 6-1, 6-1, to finish ahead of Sajonz and senior
Ben Letzer, who claimed a 6-2, 6-1 victory on court No. 4.
Junior
Dion Loutas added a 6-3, 6-1 win at line 3. The Falcons avoided the sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 decision in the No. 2 slot.
BU will next visit Bryant on Friday (Feb. 16) at 1:45 p.m.
