ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Graduate student
Kyle Falkstrom of the Boston University men's swimming & diving team secured the third individual school record of his career on Thursday at the 2024 Patriot League Championships, hosted by Navy at Lejeune Hall.
In the 200-yard individual medley prelims, Falkstrom posted a time of 1.46.87, topping Quinn Smith's program standard from 2016 by .67 seconds. He went on to finish eighth in the finals in a time of 1:47.57.
Sophomore
Tony Ponomarev took seventh in the B final of the 200 IM, finishing in 1:49.88, while freshman
Evan Liu was second in the C final with a time of 1:49.81.
Senior
Justin Lee qualified for the B final of the 50-yard freestyle and tied for 15th overall with a time of 20.79. Senior
Adrien Pierce (20.63) and junior
Keegan Duffy (20.84) finished 18th and 23rd, respectively.
Making his PL debut, freshman
Zein Mahana placed 15th in the 1-meter dive with a score of 241.80.
The final race of the night was the 400-yard medley relay and Ponomarev, Falkstrom, Kee and freshman
Jonny Farber took fifth in a time of 3:15.25.
The Terriers stand in fifth place in the 10-team competition with 221.5 points, 18 points ahead of sixth-place Lafayette.
Day three of the meet will start at 10 a.m. on Friday.
