BOSTON – The Boston University women's lacrosse team (4-6, 0-4 PL) fell 10-9 in a double overtime battle with Lafayette (4-7, 1-3 PL) at Nickerson Field on Saturday.

The Terriers and the Leopards were neck-in-neck through most of the game. Lafayette built a lead multiple times, but BU kept fighting to tie it each time. The Leopards went up 9-7 late in the fourth quarter only for BU to even the game 9-9 thanks to junior
Hannah Tillier's speedy goal to end regulation.Â

After multiple chances for both teams through the first overtime, Lafayette won the opening draw in the second overtime quarter and scored to end the game and defeat BU 10-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU lit the lamp 36 seconds into the game as Geddes scored her first of the afternoon.
- Lafayette quickly responded with their first goal but BU answered with two from Stevenson and Tick, respectively, to lead 3-1 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Leopards gained momentum in the second frame and scored three unanswered goals to lead 4-3 headed into halftime.
- BU ended its scoring drought when Geddes tied things up 4-4 with 10:53 to go in the third.
- Lafayette regained the lead with two free position goals of its own.
- Cotraro found the back of the net on the free position at the 4:40 mark.
- Tllier then backed that up with her own free position goal.
- Lafayette scored once more on the free position to end the third up 7-6.
- Tillier made it a hat trick day with a decisive goal just 40 seconds into the fourth frame.
- Once again, the Leopards went up 9-7 with a free position goal and a woman-up goal.
- Cutting into Lafayette's lead was Tillier with her second free position goal of the game.
- Sophomore Haley Matusz caused a turnover in the defensive zone which allowed Geddes to get the ball to Tillier all the way at the other end of the field as Tillier tied the game 9-9 with 18 seconds left in regulation.
- The game went to overtime and both teams put up two shots through the first overtime period.Â
- In the second overtime, Lafayette won the opening draw and raced down the field and scored to bring the final score to Lafayette 10, BU 9.

GAME NOTES
- BU was 22-for-23 on the clear while Lafayette was 28-for-31.
- The Terriers corralled 16 draws to the Leopards' nine.
- Lafayette goalkeeper Lexie Coldiron made 14 saves.
- The Leopards picked up 18 ground balls while the Terriers scooped up 17.
- Freshman Natalie Aiosa made seven saves for BU.
- BU was 4-for-10 on free position attempts and Lafayette was 4-for-9.
