BALTIMORE – The Boston University women's lacrosse team (4-9, 0-6 PL) fell to No. 7 Loyola Maryland (13-1, 7-0) in an 18-7 decision on Saturday afternoon at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Despite scoring the first goal of the game, BU fell behind early in the first frame to the nationally ranked Greyhounds. The Terriers scored twice in the first half but Loyola built to a 12-2 lead with the first 30 minutes in the books. BU was able to find the back of the net five times in the second half and held Loyola to six goals but could not catch up to the Greyhounds who came away with the win, 18-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a costly Loyola turnover let BU march down the field, Jones earned a chance on the free position on which she lit the lamp to give BU an early lead.
- Loyola tied the game at the 9:58 mark and went on to score three unanswered goals, including one on a woman-up opportunity, to push ahead 4-1.
- Bailey battled past her Loyola mark and found the back of the net as BU trailed 4-2 with 7:21 to go in the first.
- The Greyhounds continued to extend their lead to end the first frame up 9-2.
- Loyola held BU scoreless in the second quarter to lead 12-2 at the half and create a running clock.
- The Greyhounds tacked on two more to start the third and go up 14-2.Â
- With 7:40 left in the third, Tillier found Stevenson at the front of the net who scored BU's third of the day.
- Geddes passed to Stevenson moments later as she scored her second of the game to end the scoring in the third frame down 14-4.
- Loyola quickly scored its 15th of the game 58 seconds into the fourth quarter.
- Cutone fired off a shot that got past a defender and Loyola's netminder for her first collegiate goal.
- The Greyhounds then went up 18-5 with 6:43 left in the game to close out their scoring.
- Cutone earned a free position opportunity on which she scored her second of the day.
- Reinertson scored the final goal of the game with 1:48 to go, bringing the final score to Loyola 18, BU 7.Â

- Loyola outshot BU 30 to 16.
- The Greyhounds also corralled 22 draws to BU's seven.
- BU went 15-for-16 on clears while Loyola went 13-for-15.
- Seniors Ellen Monahan and Kaelin Isaacson each caused two turnovers.
- BU went 2-for-3 on free position attempts.
- Reinertson's goal marks the second time in her career and first time since Feb. 19, 2022 that she has scored goals in back-to-back games.
