Izzy Valantiejus each won B finals on the second day of the Patriot League Championships on Thursday at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium. The Terriers stand in sixth place with two days remaining at the meet.
Thursday night's finals started with two BU wins as freshman
Katie Pestrichelli won the C final of the 500-yard freestyle in a personal-best time of 4:58.53 before Valantiejus followed that up with the best time of her career, touching the wall in 4:54.60 to claim the B final. Valantiejus' time with the ninth-best in program history.
Newman gave the Terriers another strong performance soon after, posting a season-best 2:02.80 in the 200-yard individual medley to win the B final.
Sophomore
Stella Langenbach and senior
Summer Brainin placed 14th (23.60) and 21st (23.92), respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle with season-best times.
The Terriers closed the night with a eighth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay as freshman
Abby Han, senior
Stephanie Liu, sophomore
Milena Busma and Langenbach turned in a time of 3:47.22, which was the team's best of the season.
BU will enter Friday just eight points behind fifth-place Lehigh.
