Senior Carly Soares of the women's swimming & diving team closed her stellar career by finishing fourth in the 400 IM, sixth in the 200 IM, and seventh in the 200 breast at the conference meet to finish as BU's all-time leader in career points at the Patriot League Championships. She also aided the 200 medley relay (1:32.48) and 400 medley relay (3:42.74) teams to new school records. The senior became the first swimmer in program history to be a four-time All-Patriot League selection and is one of 10 student-athletes in program history to be a four-time all-conference selection.


“In the pool and in the weight room she's gotten stronger every year," head coach Bill Smyth said, "and this season she won 18 individual races in dual meets, most by dominating fashion - winning by several body-lengths to sometimes over a pool length. Over Carly's career, she has won Patriot League championships and has been at the top of the voting for our team MVP awards annually.”
 
“Carly is somebody who I rely on during meets to perform and to help others perform well," Smyth said. "She's somebody I can lean on to carry us and somebody who possesses enough empathy to be able to see the big picture.”
