Nacaxe Leads Terriers at FasTrack Invitational

RESULTS

BOSTON - In preparation for next weekend's America East Championship, sophomore Andre Nacaxe (Goiania, BRA) led the B.U. men's track team by winning the 400-meter dash and anchoring the first-place 4x400-meter relay team in the FasTrack Invitational at the Track and Tennis Center (TTC) on Friday, Feb. 15.

Nacaxe's time of 48.09 in the 400 beat out 29 runners, including junior Matt Adler (Scottsdale, AZ) and senior Steve Deppe (Metuchen, NJ), who earned third and seventh place and finished with times of 48.38 and 48.83, respectively.

The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of freshman Lucjan Zaborowski (Chorzow, POL), Deppe, senior Chris Brandon (Las Cruces, NM), and Nacaxe, beat 11 teams and set a new facility record of 3:11.34.

Brandon (22.18) and Zaborowski (22.22) finished four-hundredths of a second apart in the 200-meter dash to earn 11th and 12th place in a field of 31.

In the developmental races, sophomore Jeff McAulay (Poughkeepsie, NY) placed sixth in the 200-meter dash (22.95), senior Paul Morrice (Auckland, NZ) finished third in the 1000-meter run (2:28.38), and seniors Jordan Jones (Medford, MA) and Rob Wong (Fayetville, NY) took fourth (15:15.50) and fifth (15:17.34) in the 5000-meter run, respectively.

The Terriers begin championship competition as they host the America East Championship at the TTC on Feb. 21-22.
