RESULTS
Williamsburg, VA - In its first outdoor competition of the season, the Terrier 4x200 relay team set a program record to lead the B.U. men's track team to a eighth-place finish at the William & Mary Colonial Relays on April 5-6.
The relay team of freshman Lucjan Zaborowski (Chorzow, POL), sophomore Andre Nacaxe (Goiania, BRA), seniors Steve Deppe (Metuchen, NJ) and Chris Brandon (Las Cruces, NM) placed third in 4x200 race in a time of 1:26:58, besting the previous program record of 1:26:62 set in 1989. The foursome also competed in the 4x400 race, placing second behind Seton Hall with a time of 3:11.74.
Nacaxe and Deppe also earned Top 10 finishes in the 400 meter dash. Nacaxe placed seventh in a time of 48.41 while Deppe finished in ninth with a time of 48.87.
Senior Jochen Dieckfoss (Tubingen, Germany) won the 3,000 meter steeplechase title with a time of 8:55.61. Classmate Paul Morrice (Auckland, New Zealand) trailed Dieckfoss to place fifth in a time of 9:34.56.
Four Terriers competed in the 5,000 meter run with two seniors, Jordan Jones (Medford, MA) and Rob Wong (Fayetville, NY), finishing in the Top 10. Jones took sixth in a time of 14:53.28 while Wong finished in ninth with a time of 14:55.81. Senior Jay Borbet (Smithtown, NY) finished in 33rd with a time of 15:44.36, while freshman Mike Fisher (Newton, MA) finished in 37th with a time of 15:58.69.
Senior Liam Revell (Belleville, Ontario) placed fourth in 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:51.48.
In the field events, senior Mike Coronado (New York, NY) had a personal-best effort in the shot put, placing eighth with a distance of 48' 1 ¼".
Up next, the Terriers compete at the Mt. Sac Invitational on April 18-20.
