Hutcheson Leads Great Danes To 70-57 Win Over Terriers

BOSTON - Danielle Hutcheson recorded game-highs of 22 points and 15 rebounds to give the Albany women's basketball team a 70-57 victory over host Boston University at Case Gymnasium on Wednesday, March 2.

Albany improves to 14-13 overall and 8-9 with its third-straight victory while B.U. drops to 11-15 and 6-11 with its fifth consecutive loss.

The Great Danes built a 34-20 halftime lead as Maree Jones scored all 11 of her points in the game before the break. The Terriers struggled to find an offensive rhythm, hitting just 6-of-30 from the field (20.0 percent).

B.U. out-scored Albany, 14-6, during a five minutes stretch in the second half to cut the deficit to 46-41 at 11:16. The Terriers were able to draw within three two times but could pull ahead of the Great Danes.

Senior forward Adrienne Norris (Delafield, WI) had team-highs of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Rachael Vanderwal (Stoney Creek, ONT) and red-shirt sophomore Katie Meinhardt (San Francisco, CA) both scored 14 points while senior forward Larissa Parr (Eau Claire, WI) grabbed 10 boards.

B.U. plays its regular-season finale on Sunday, March 6, when it hosts New Hampshire at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the Terriers will honor seniors Becky Bonner (Concord, NH), Norris, and Parr, who will be playing in the final home games of their careers.
