No. 10 Terriers Down Bearcats, 20-3

BOSTON - The 10th-ranked Boston University women's lacrosse team improved to 9-0 at Nickerson Field and 11-1 overall with a 20-3 victory over America East foe Binghamton on Sunday, April 17.

Twelve Terriers factored in the scoring as B.U. earned its seventh-straight win.

Freshman attacker Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, VA) scored a game-high six goals off six shots to lead a balanced attacking unit.

Hauser scored two of the Terriers' first three goals of the game as B.U. built a 9-1 lead midway through the first half. Leanne Musso scored her second goal of the game at 8:49 to cut the deficit to 9-2 but the Terriers scored the final three goals of the first half to take a 13-2 advantage at intermission.

In the second half, the Terriers out-scored the Bearcats, 7-1, while limiting their conference rival to just three shots.

Senior goalkeeper Anne Sheridan (Baltimore, MD) earned her 11th win of the season, making four saves while allowing two goals in 24:15 of play. Freshman Jenna Golden (Suffern, NY) played the final 35:45, holding the Bearcats to just one goal while making four saves.

Hauser's six goals tied a season-high and raised her team-leading goal total to 34. Junior midfielder Kaitlyn Cuneo (Marlton, NJ) also had a perfect effort on the attack, scoring four goals off four shots.

Seniors Alyssa Trudel (Shoreham, VT) and Kelly Trahon (Needham, MA) along with junior attacker Lindsay Lewis (Glenelg, MD) each scored two goals. Trahon's second goal was a behind-the-back shot off a feed from junior attacker Mary Beth Miller (Berlin, NJ).

Sophomore attackers Kaitlyn Gentry (Towson, MD) and Angie Martin (Catonsville, MD) each had two assists. Sophomore attackers Caryn Lean (Annapolis, MD) and Noelle Hopper (Ellicott City, MD), junior defender Keely Anderson (Nashua, NH), and freshman defender Molly Collins (Winchester, MA) each had single-goal efforts.

The Terriers forced 17 of the Bearcat's 24 turnovers, with sophomore defender Alex Mount (Northport, NY) totaling a game-high four caused turnovers.

The Terriers hit the road for a pair of conference games this week. B.U. plays at Vermont on Wednesday, April 20, and at Stony Book on Saturday, April 23. Both games start at 4:00 p.m.
