BOSTON - After tallying a game-high six points in Boston University's 14-10 victory over No. 14 Hofstra, junior Lauren Morton has been named the America East women's lacrosse Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Morton matched her career highs in both points and goals (5) to help first-year head coach Liz Robershaw earn her first career victory.
The junior recorded two draw controls and tallied three points in each half, scoring the game’s first goal before adding an assist and another goal before the half to help the Terriers race out to a 9-3 lead at the break. Morton capped her day with a trio of goals in the second half to put away the Pride.
Through two games, Morton has accumulated team highs of eight goals, nine points and seven draw controls.
Morton and the Terriers are in the middle of an 11-day break from their schedule and will return to action on Wednesday, March 14, when they kick off their spring break trip with a contest against Loyola.
