BOSTON - After finishing up a four-year career with the Boston University men's ice hockey team, senior Eric Thomassian (Rye, N.Y.) will enter the professional ranks, as the forward has signed an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement with the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL.

An undrafted free agent, Thomassian was picked up by Charlotte, an affiliate of the New York Rangers, and will bolster the team's lineup as it enters the final weekend of the regular season. He is the third member of the Terriers' senior class to have signed an ATO, joining Kenny Roche and Sean Sullivan.

Thomassian appeared in 75 contests during his career at BU, totaling 23 points on six goals and 17 assists. This past season, the senior battled through injuries to record nine assists in 18 games.
