BOSTON - The Boston University men's swimming and diving team dropped a 176-120 decision to undefeated Harvard on Saturday afternoon at Competition Pool. The Terriers fall to 7-2 in dual-meet action. BU swept the 200 backstroke, led by freshman Bryon Kallert's winning time of 1:57.52, while sophomore Arik Seiler finished first in the 500 freestyle and Eric Carlson was victorious in the 200 breaststroke. Junior Andre Watson swept both boards.

Watson picked up the Terriers' first win with a victory on the 3-meter board with a score of 358.28 and he later completed the sweep of both boards when a score of 348.45 on the 1-meter, which was 31.27 higher than any other diver in the field.

Freshman Bryon Kallert, sophomore Jeff Wurm and freshman Brett McKenzie swept the top three spots in the 200 back to close the gap. Kallert touched the wall first with a winning time of one minute, 57.52. In the next race, the Terriers brought the score even closer, when Carlson and freshman Kyle Ernst finished 1-2 in the 200 breaststroke. Carlson touched in 2:09.85 followed by Ernst in 2:11.77.

Seiler continued with his strong season with a victory in the 500 free. Seiler's time of 4:42.29 was over two seconds faster than his closest competitor. The Terriers closed out the competition with a win in the 200 free relay, however, Harvard had built enough of a lead earlier in the meet to hold on for the win.

BU will take on cross-town rival Boston College on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 6:00 p.m.
