BOSTON - Junior Sarah Dalton (Cornwall, Vt.) and senior Lauren Morton (Glenside, Pa.) were named All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) and US Lacrosse on Wednesday. Dalton became just the third player in program history to earn a spot on the first team, while Morton closed out her stellar career with second-team honors.

Current BU assistant coach Anne Sheridan and Alyssa Trudel and the only other Terriers to earn first-team honors, each doing so in 2005.

Dalton and Morton, who are both two-time all-region selections, helped the Terriers post an 18-3 record and reach the NCAA quarterfinals for only the second time in program history. The team put together a school-record 15-game win streak and matched the 2005 squad for the most victories in a season.

Dalton was also named to the 16-member WomensLax.com All-America Team in addition to earning first-team All-America accolades from womenslacrosse.com, which honored Morton with a spot on its third team. Freshman Katie Nichols (Medford, N.J) was selected to the womenslacrosse.com All-Rookie Team.

Dalton, who was a third-team All-American as a sophomore, was the 2008 America East Player of the Year, setting a new program single-season high with 71 goals this year. She also notched a team-best 84 points - good for the third-best single-season mark in BU history. The junior is currently fifth on BU's all-time list with 156 goals and is sixth in points (182), while also ranking third in career draw controls (133) after setting the team pace with 49 this season.

Morton, who also earned a spot on the America East All-Conference Second Team, ranked second on the team with 57 goals and 65 points, collecting 36 ground balls, 47 draw controls and causing a team-high 29 turnovers. The co-captain set a new program career mark this season with 182 draw controls. She also leaves the team ranking fourth all-time in career goals (160), seventh in career points (179), third in caused turnovers (92) and sixth in ground balls (144).

The IWLCA and US Lacrosse honored 48 student-athletes in Division I with a selection on one of the All-American teams. The IWLCA and US Lacrosse will honor the National All-Americans at an awards banquet on June 14, 2008 in King of Prussia, Pa.
