BOSTON - After finishing in the top 10 in the triple jump and long jump at the NCAA regionals and competing with Boston University's 4x100m relay team that set a new school record, senior Tahari James has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week, as was announced Monday.

James' 13.40m distance in the triple jump earned her fourth place in the competition at Florida State's Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla., also qualifying the senior for the NCAA championship. Her 5.98m long jump clinched eighth place, while the relay team consisting of James, sophomore Whitney Ford, freshman Laura Martin and junior Erin Catarius entered a new BU record with a 46.47 time.

James will be attending her second NCAA championship this year, after also competing in the indoor title competition. At that meet, James completed a 13.42m triple jump, earning All-America status and taking sixth place.

This year's Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 11-14. The Terriers hope to send multiple representatives, as the rest of the field will be announced this week.
