Sophomore Casey Brown was named the 2007 Most Valuable Player for the women's soccer team after anchoring a stingy Terrier defense that earned a conference-best 0.62 goals-against average, good for 12th in the nation rankings. Her presence on defense helped guide the Terriers to 10 shutouts - six in league play - and just two goals allowed during the conference slate.
For her efforts on the backline, she was named the 2007 America East Defender of the Year. Brown also proved that she could aptly transition from defense to offense, as she tallied a team-high five goals. She also assisted on the game-winning goal in the America East championship game.
Brown was named to a slew of post-season teams including the America East All-Conference First Team, AE All-Championship Team, NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third Team and Soccer Buzz Northeast Region First Team.
