Andrea Walkonen was named the 2007 Most Valuable Player for the women's cross country team after a spectacular senior season, which culminated with a win at the America East Championships on Oct. 27. Walkonen's first-place finish helped propel the Terriers into second place at the championships.
Walkonen had finished first in each of the team's first four races during the fall season, which included a victory at the New England Cross Country Championship at Franklin Park on Oct 6. The Jaffrey, N.H., native completed her final campaign with a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Regionals, which was also held at Franklin Park. In addition, Walkonen was named the America East Performer of the Week twice during the fall season.
