Cheri Raffo was named the 2007-08 Most Valuable Player for the women's basketball team. A senior tri-captain, she was a stalwart during the season as well as during her time in the scarlet and white. She started in every game and finished her career as the only women's basketball player to play in every BU game during a four-year span.
On Feb. 6, 2008, Raffo joined the 1,000-point club and finished her career ranked ninth all-time with 1,147 points. During this past season, she logged 1,001 minutes to bring her career total to 3,787 - a program record. In 2007-08, she averaged 11.0 points per game and was .346 from the floor. Her career high came on Feb. 3, 2008 when she posted 27 points versus Vermont at Case Gym. She also finished her career as the all-time leader in games played (123) and fourth in career 3-pointers (149).
