Junior Mike Roberts was named the MVP of the 2007-08 Boston University wrestling team. He recorded a career-high 28 victories and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year.

At the 2007 Southern Scuffle, Roberts pinned third-ranked Darrion Caldwell (N.C. State) before defeating top-ranked Dustin Schlatter (Minnesota), 3-2, in the title match. He was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler and was named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for his efforts.

Roberts entered his senior season with a career record of 77-30.
