Two members of Boston University's athletic administration received promotions effective July 1, Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike Lynch announced. Joe Nicastro was named Director of Compliance, and Dan Satter was named Associate Athletic Director for Marketing Communications.

Previously the Compliance Coordinator, Nicastro has been with Terrier Athletics for six years and has steadily expanded his role within the department. His new title reflects increased responsibilities in rules compliance as well as extended working relationships with admissions and financial aid departments on campus. He also will oversee all aspects of the administration of sports camps and clinics from the athletics department perspective, and will be the chief liaison in working with university personnel in pertinent areas.

Additionally, Nicastro will assume a more principle role in working with the NCAA and affiliated conference office staffs in rules education and compliance matters. He currently certifies and monitors initial and continuing eligibility for more than 500 student-athletes and acts as the Athletics liaison with numerous departments on campus, including the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Assistance and the Office of Student Accounting Services.

Satter, who previously was an Assistant Athletic Director, has been with Terrier Athletics for close to two years and has steadfastly improved the department's image in all areas involving multi-media. His vision and leadership have enabled a greater integration on campus and increased visibility off-campus. Under his watch, the department created a weekly magazine-style radio show and has been represented more frequently on national and regional telecasts.

The department's official website, www.GoTerriers.com, has grown exponentially in page views, unique visitors and revenue generated. Live and archived pay-per-view streaming packages are available via BU All-Access for all home games for seven sports, totaling more than 80 events per year. Double-digit percent growth in attendance has occurred over the last two seasons for all sports that the department markets. Satter also developed the theme, edited and oversaw the design of the department's strategic plan.
