Boston University announced the hiring of Jeffrey Selesnick as an assistant director of athletic communications on Monday, Aug. 3. Selesnick will serve as the primary media contact for the Terriers' women's ice hockey, women's lacrosse, cross country and track and field programs, as well as a secondary contact for the men's ice hockey team.
Prior to his arrival at BU, Selesnick spent the 2008 season as the public relations intern for the Cleveland Browns and the year before as a staff assistant in the Harvard University Office of Athletic Communications. While with the Crimson, Selesnick accompanied the women's hockey team to the Frozen Four in Duluth, Minn., covered the men's tennis team during their NCAA tournament run in Ann Arbor, Mich., and assisted the communications staff in hosting the men's lacrosse national championships at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.
Selesnick holds a degree in English from Wheaton College (Mass.) and a Master of Arts degree in Visual and Media Arts from Emerson College. His positions held during his collegiate career include intern in the sports department at WPRI television in East Providence, R.I. and with the Concord Quarry Dogs baseball team formerly of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, and columnist for the rugby website RugbyDirt.com. Selesnick was also a four-year member of the Wheaton men's tennis team and a staff member in the Wheaton athletics communications office throughout his undergraduate career.
