PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Jeff Chudacoff earned a victory in the No. 1 singles position for the Boston University men's tennis team, but Brown University proved to be too tough with a 6-1 victory Saturday evening. With the loss, the Terriers drop to 1-1 in their first match of the spring season.

The Bears started off by sweeping the doubles contests, including the No. 1 match that went to a tie breaker. Having not played since a 7-0 win over Siena in October, Chudacoff and Josh Friedman played close but eventually fell, 8-7(5) to Skat Gorham/Kedrick Au.

In singles action, Chudacoff won a tie breaker to pull out a straight sets win over Tim Klauke, 6-4, 7-6(3). Freshman Alex Hallenbeck also had a solid showing at No. 4, falling to Luciano Musella, 7-5, 6-3.

The Terriers will next return to action at the Tennis and Track Center on Saturday, Feb. 6, against Lehigh. The start time is set for 2 p.m.
