BOSTON -
The Boston University women's soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for maintaining a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, as it earned an NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.
To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible, however, the Terriers surpassed that requirement with an overall 3.34 team GPA. The women's soccer squad has traditionally been strong not only on the field, but also in the classroom and in 2010 Emily Pallotta ('10) completed her career as an America East Scholar-Athlete and the AE Woman of the Year. She went on to graduate summa cum laude, owning a 3.76 GPA in business administration with a concentration in finance and law and a minor in history. She was the 2009 America East Scholar Athlete in women's soccer and garnered ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-America and NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-America third team recognition.
