HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Boston University men's swimming and diving team defeated Colgate, 160-71, on Sunday afternoon. In all, BU won nine events, including seven individual races.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Nik Astashinsky, Ernst, Matt Rickett and Daniel Kempf won in one minute, 36.87 seconds.
Individually, Mark Nakanishi got things going with a victory in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:01.51 with Tim Bouiver coming in in second in 10:06.57. In the 200 free, BU took first and second as Bryon Kallert and Ernst went 1-2 with times of 1:45.05 and 1:45.30, respectively.
Jeff Thomas claimed top honors in two events - the 400 IM (4:07.38) and 500 free (4:44.71). Kallert (1:58.38), Knox Anderson (1:59.28) and Wesley Pate (1:59.94) went first, second, and third in the 200 back, while Ernst (2:07.13), Thomas (2:11.91), and Andrew Guinther (2:12.91) also swept the podium in the 200 breast.
In the diving events, Tanner Knorr and Jake Frankenfield went 1-2 on both the 1M and 3M. Knorr scored a 205.80 on the 1M and a 230.09 on the 3M, while Frankenfield scored 201.08 on 1M and 205.57 on the 3M.
To close out the meet, the 200-yard free relay of Kempf, Rickett, Justin Gilmartin, Jackson Hill won the race in 1:25.36.
Before hosting the Terrier Invitational from Nov. 19-21, BU will continue with its road stretch with two more meets: Stony Brook (Nov. 12) and Fordam (Nov. 13).
