The Boston University men's tennis battled UMBC but eventually fell 6-1 on Sunday evening at the Tennis and Track Center. Josh Friedman captured the lone point for the Terriers (2-5).
UMBC (7-2) swept through doubles and then captured five of the six singles matches for the team victory.
Friedman along with Jeff Chudacoff fell to Fredi Voorman/Allen Tsang, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles, while Marcus Vanberkel and Alex Hallenbeck dropped an 8-5 decision to Chris Meyer/Mwali Phiri.
In singles, Friedman defeated Voorman, 6-7 (7-2), 6-4, 10-8, at No. 2 singles. James Bernstein battled Phiri to a shortened third set but fell 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.
The Terriers will have a week off before traveling to Orlando for a Spring Break trip.
