Junior forward Nick Bonino, who earned team highs in points (38) and assists (27), was named the most valuable player of the 2009-10 Boston University men's ice hockey team.
Bonino also led the Terriers this season in plus-minus (+18) while serving as an assistant captain despite missing five games early on due to a separated shoulder. He was named an honorable mention Hockey East All-Star for the second consecutive year.
After the season ended in the Hockey East semifinals, Bonino signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, thus forgoing his final year of NCAA eligibilty. Bonino tallied 117 points (45g, 72a) in 116 career games with the Terriers.
