Rising senior Ana Johnson and recent graduate Kaitlyn Mardeusz were named the most valuable players for the 2009-10 Boston University women's golf team. Johnson was the team's top golfer throughout the season, while Mardeusz consistently turned in strong performances for the team.
Johnson was the team's top golfer in the fall and spring seasons, as she sat atop the Terriers' leaderboard in eight of the 10 invites throughout the year. She shot a season-best 158 at the Roar-ee Invite to place 25th overall back in April and at the MAAC Championships, tied for fifth with Mardeusz with a three-day total of 241. At season's end, Johnson was also honored for her academic achievements as she was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
Mardeusz, who was consistently near the top of the Terriers' leaderboard, had her best round of golf of the season at the Hartford Hawks Invitational where she placed 24th, carding a 166. At the MAAC Championships, she tied with Johnson for fifth place after shooting an 80 on the first and second day and an 81 on day three to complete the championships with a 241 - her best three-day round of golf.
