BOSTON - In dominating fashion, the Boston University women's soccer team (6-5-0, 1-0-0 AE) opened America East action with a 2-0 win over New Hampshire (4-5-2, 0-1-0 AE) on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field. Graduate student Lisa Kevorkian and junior Jessica Luscinski each scored as the Terriers outshot the Wildcats, 30-4, to extend their winning streak to three games.

The Terriers continued to reign over the Wildcats with their 10th victory since 2002, which improves their all-time record to 15-3-1.

The Terriers, who held the 9-2 advantage in corner kicks, recorded an America East season high with 30 shots - 14 of which were on target. Kevorkian unleashed a season-high seven shots with two on frame, while Luscinski earned three shots on goal. Six different Terriers had at least three shots during the 90 minutes of action.

BU dominated possession throughout the game and in the early going was effective in sending short crisp passes around to spread the field. Senior Corie Halasz had the best chance in the first ten minutes, sending a hard-hit strike towards net that ricocheted off the cross bar. Kevorkian followed up on the rebound, but her attempt went high and out of bounds.

At 19:22, Kevorkian put BU up 1-0 when she ran onto a long pass from Clark. Sprinting into the box on a breakaway, Kevorkian slide the ball past Erica Correa for her conference-leading seventh goal of the season.

Following the tally, BU continued to control the run of play and held a 15-3 advantage in shots at half, peppering Correa with seven shots. BU's aggressive offense also earned five corner kicks, while UNH drew one.

Nearly five minutes into the second half, Luscinski upped the lead to two with an unassisted goal on a free kick 22 yards out. It was her fifth goal of the season. After a foul occurred just outside the 18-yard box, Luscinski stepped up and arched a perfectly placed ball into the far left corner that evaded the UNH defense.

BU continued to apply pressure to the Wildcats' backline and had a golden opportunity in the 68th minute when Clark and junior Krista Minto had back-to-back shots on goal within a span of three seconds during a flurry inside the 18-yard box; however, Correa came up with two outstanding saves.

The Terriers held off a late push by UNH and surrendered just one shot in the final 21 minutes.

BU will travel south to UMBC on Thursday (Sept. 30) for a 4 p.m. start.
