Junior Jenn Wakefield has been named this week's GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week after pacing the No. 3 Boston University women's ice hockey team with six points in wins over then-No. 6 Boston College and Maine.
The Pickering, Ont., native started the weekend with two goals and two assists in a 4-0 win over Boston College at Conte Forum on Saturday afternoon. Her four-point effort helped BU clinch the Hockey East regular-season series between the squads.
On Sunday, Wakefield, who was named Hockey East Player of the Week, added a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over Maine, as the Terriers extended their winning streak to 10 games. The victory also set a program record for home wins in a season (11). The previous mark was set during the 2006-07 campaign.
For the season, Wakefield ranks second in Hockey East in goals (20) and third in assists (17) and points (37).
