The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with six lead changes in the first 20 minutes of play. The game opened with the teams trading baskets before Navy used a 4-0 run from Audrey Bauer to take a 10-7 lead. The Terriers responded with four unanswered points of their own but Bauer kept the Midshipmen ahead with a jumper and Chey Arvin added a layup, as the Mids led, 16-11. Young brought BU back within one with a three form the wing but Navy answered on the other end with a jumper. Agboola's put-back on a missed jumper from Stewart again brought the Terriers within a point and the teams then traded baskets to end the half, as BU went to the locker room down, 28-27.

Navy opened the second half with a shot from beyond the arc but a 4-0 run from a Stewart layup and a pair of free throws from Agboola knotted the score at 31-31. The Mids sunk another three but Moran stepped in front of a Navy pass and went coast-to-coast for a layup. Young then sank a jumper to give BU its first lead since the first half, at 35-34.

Kara Pollinger connected on a jumper for Navy to end BU's streak of eight unanswered points before both teams went scoreless for the next three minutes. Young ended the drought for the Terriers with a layup but Jade Geif countered with a layup for Navy on the other end. The Mids then stole the lead with a 7-0 run capped by a layup from Pollinger at 2:11, to go ahead, 46-43. The Terriers came back and scored the last five points of the game with a layup from Alford and a three from Moran to capture the 48-46 victory.

The Terriers return to the court for their third game in three days on Saturday for a New Year's Eve clash at St. John's. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Queens, N.Y.
