2012 WPS Draft Selections
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Boston University women's soccer two-time America East Striker of the Year Jessica Luscinski was selected in the fourth round of Friday's Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) Draft by the Boston Breakers.
Luscinski, who ended her collegiate career in November as the No. 2 all-time leader in points at BU with 82, was taken with the second pick of the fourth round (20th overall) and is the highest-ever WPS Draft selection in program history.
Mara Osher ('10) was a sixth-round pick of the Washington Freedom, while Casey Brown ('10) was selected in the seventh by the Breakers. Back in 2001, Deidre Enos ('01) was taken in the second round of the WUSA Supplemental College Draft.
A native of Bedford, N.H., Luscinski capped her BU career with a standout senior season, as she was named an NSCAA Third Team All-American and First Team Scholar All-American. She was also tabbed the America East's top striker for the second consecutive season.
Also an All-Conference First Team forward for the third consecutive season, Luscinski led the league in points (26), assists (8) and was second in goals (9). She wrapped up her career second all-time at BU in assists (24) and tied-for-third in goals with 29.
The 2012 WPS Draft included 23 picks by the five WPS teams over four rounds.
