VESTAL, N.Y. - The Boston University men's swimming and diving team defeated America East foe Binghamton, 168-132, Saturday afternoon at the Patricia A. Saunders Aquatic Center. BU won the first six events and finished the meet with 10 victories.

The sophomore quartet of Connor Stuewe, Mario Caballero, Andy Vazquez and Cole Puchi got the meet started with a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.41.

BU took the top two spots in the first individual event, the 1000 freestyle. Sophomore Alec Pokornowski swam to victory in 9:48.82 while freshmen Tanner Cridland placed second in 9:54.96. Fellow freshmen Mun Hon Lee earned his first win of the meet in the next event, touching the wall first (1:43.47) in the 200 freestyle.

Stuewe returned to the pool for a first place finish in the 100 backstroke (50.99) while junior Jeff Thomas picked up the win in the 100 breaststroke (59.82).

BU finished 1-2-3 in the 200 butterfly with Caballero earning the win (1:54.54) followed by Cridland (1:58.92) and then Vazquez (1:59.46).

Lee earned his second victory in the 200 backstroke (1:54.37) while Caballero garnered another win in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.08). Pokornowski then completed his sweep of the distance freestyle events with a first place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:47.99).

BU again took the top three places in the last individual event, the 200 IM, with Caballero leading the way in 1:56.71. Thomas placed second (1:59.81) while Puchi took third (2:00.08).

Junior Jared Scheck was the top Terrier in the 1m diving event with a score of 242.47 for second place. He was also the highest finisher for BU from the 3m board with a total of 228.45 for third place.

The Terriers return to action next Saturday (Nov. 3), when they travel to the Bronx, N.Y., for a dual meet at Fordham. Competition is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
