BALTIMORE - Three members of the Boston University lacrosse program were named to the U.S. women's national senior team roster for the North American Challenge Cup, US Lacrosse announced on Thursday.

Junior attack Danielle Etrasco, along with assistant coach Katie Hertsch and volunteer assistant coach Sarah Bullard, will be a part of the 24-player roster. The team was selected from the 38-player 2011-12 U.S. women's senior team that most recently competed at Champion Challenge, a US Lacrosse event, last weekend.

The North American Challenge Cup will be held July 13-15, 2012, in Oshawa, Canada, host of the 2013 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Cup. Twelve players, including Bullard, were on the gold medal-winning 2009 World Cup team. Etrasco is one of six team members currently in college, while Bullard and Hertsch are the only two players on the squad who graduated last year.

BU will begin its 2012 season on Wednesday, Feb. 22, when the Terriers travel to Amherst to face No.19 Massachusetts.
