HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Molly Swain and junior Danielle Etrasco each tallied twice, but the Boston University women's lacrosse team lost, 13-6, at No. 9/16 Dartmouth on Wednesday at Scully-Fahey Field.

Sophomore Christina Sheridan made a season-high 11 saves, including eight in the second half. Freshman Mallory Collins and junior Kristen Mogavero also scored for the Terriers.

BU (1-3) has received goals from Collins, Etrasco and Mogavero in every game this season. Swain has now scored in consecutive games for the Terriers.

Dartmouth (3-0) opened the game with four straight goals, culminating with Erin Massimi converting a free position shot with 23:50 left in the first half to make it 4-0.

Etrasco responded just 48 seconds later, however, with a free position conversion of her own to make it a 4-1 game. The Big Green then used a run of five straight goals to build a 9-1 lead with 12:09 remaining in the first half.

Collins scored her 11th goal of the year on a free position shot to make it 9-2. After Dartmouth scored again, the Terriers closed the opening half with Swain’s second strike of the season with 1:19 remaining. Etrasco was credited with an assist.

BU held Dartmouth scoreless for the next 12:45, as Sheridan made four key saves during that span. However, the Big Green finally broke through when Frances Bird scored to make it 11-4. Dartmouth added another to make it 12-4 before BU scored the next two.

Mogavero did well to create space for herself and score an unassisted goal with 12:57 remaining in regulation to make it 12-5. Swain followed with her second goal of the game nearly six minutes later to cut the Dartmouth lead to 13-5. A late Big Green tally closed the scoring.

The Terriers collected 19 ground balls, including 13 in the second half. They also limited Dartmouth to just one free position shot in the second half.

BU will be back in action on Saturday when the Terriers host No. 7/10 Notre Dame in their first game at Nickerson Field this season. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
