After recording four points at the 2013 Frozen Four, junior Marie-Philip Poulin of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team was named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Poulin began the weekend with a one-goal, one-assist performance to help No. 2 BU best Mercyhurst, 4-1, in the NCAA semifinals on Friday night. She also accomplished that feat on Sunday in a 6-3 loss to undefeated Minnesota in the national title game. She was named to the All-Tournament Team and finished the NCAA tournament with three goals and three assists.
The Beauceville, Que., native finished the year with 55 points (19g, 36a); the 36 assists are a single-season program record. She will represent Canada at the 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championship from April 2 to April 9 in Ottawa, Ont.
Poulin is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in psychology.
